This introductory workshop demonstrates the benefits of getting involved outside of the classroom and shares resources that will allow you to find opportunities. We will also discuss common barriers to getting involved and methods to overcome them. Student facilitators will share their personal journeys in co-curricular involvement at the University of Toronto.

Working Respectfully with Communities

This workshop provides an introduction on how to respectfully engage with communities. It is geared toward students who are about to start working on a community-based project.

Reflection

50 mins.

Reflection is a central component of community-engaged learning. This workshop will explore the meaning of reflection and why it is important, and offer exercises that allow students to find meaning in their experience.
